Dr Nathaniel Heah
Dr Nathaniel Heah is a UK fellowship trained Consultant Urologist (University College London Hospital (UCLH)). He is an executive committee member of the Singapore Urological Association and the Society of Men’s Health Singapore. Dr Nathaniel Heah is an accredited surgeon in minimally invasive stone and laparoscopic procedures in major hospitals. He is also currently a Visiting Consultant at Woodlands Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Dr Nathaniel Heah provides specialized care in Andrology, Reconstructive Urology and Endoscopic surgery.
MEDICAL BACKGROUND AND INTEREST
Dr Nathaniel Heah was formerly a Consultant Urologist at Woodlands Health Hospital and was part of the foundational batch of doctors that helped plan and open this brand-new public hospital. During his time in Woodlands Hospital, he took an interest in improving cost effective and advanced patient care, and pioneered several surgical techniques in the Urology service including:
- Insertion of Inflatable Penile Prosthesis – A reliable option for Erectile dysfunction, Penile prosthesis have the best outcomes for both patient and partner satisfaction.
- Thulium Fibre Laser Enucleation of Prostate – This surgical technique is associated with reduced bleeding and better longevity compared to Transurethral resection of Prostate.
- Transperineal Prostate Biopsy – A procedure that is now becoming the gold standard for prostate biopsies in advanced centres around the world that drastically reduces the risk of infection.
- Urolift – A form of minimally invasive surgical therapy (MIST) for Benign Prostate Enlargement that can be done as a day surgery procedure and reduces the risk of post procedure catheter significantly. He also established the use of Urolift under Local Anaesthetic and Sedation, providing a treatment option for patients that may not be suitable for General Anaesethesia.

ACADEMIA AND INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Dr Nathaniel Heah graduated from Monash University in 2008 and completed his Urology training in 2020. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Chapter of Urology (FAMS). In 2023, he completed a Fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at the University of College London Hospital (UCLH) where he specialized in Urethral Stricture Surgery. Dr Nathaniel Heah was a Clinical Tutor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
He is an active speaker and has presented at several conferences in the field of Men’s Health and BPH. He is passionate about helping couples overcoming physical barriers to intimacy and is working hard to raise awareness on men’s health and how it affects one’s mental health and relationships.
HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS
Dr Nathaniel Heah served at the frontline during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic while simultaneously preparing for the completion of his specialization training and was awarded the COVID-19 Resilience Medal in recognition of his contributions. During his free time, he enjoys running, playing tennis and spending time with his family. He likes doing DIY home improvement projects around the house and has accumulated too many tools for his own good.
